"With labor costs and challenges,
my interest in going on the Haygrove’s Brit Tour was the automation of high
tunnels. I returned with a better understanding of the options – electric
roller venting and electric roller doors – that allow a grower to better manage
his tunnels."

"I went on the Haygrove tunnel tour to England a few years ago and I can
tell you it was well worth my time to go. It was definitely a jam-packed tour
visiting several facilities daily. All were different with something to learn
at each location. All the Haygrove staff and the growers we visited were very
friendly and knowledgeable about many different crops and cropping systems.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in
high tunnel production no matter how much experience you may have."

"A
couple of years ago, we attended the Haygrove Brit tour with a number of tunnel
growers and educators and researchers from MSU. This was about the best tour of
its kind I have been on. It was certainly well organized and economical, but
the aspect that set it apart was the leisurely time spent with some very
innovative growers and advisors, who were fully open to share their knowledge.
I absolutely recommend this tour to current and potential tunnel growers, as well as educators and researchers working in this field."
“The tour was
absolutely worth attending! We met some amazing people, great hospitality, the
country was beautiful, and the tour was fantastic! We really enjoyed
picking the brains of people that have been managing tunnels for years and
seeing it first hand. It is definitely a great learning experience for anyone
interested in learning more about high tunnels. We really enjoyed visiting all
the farms and learning from their experiences and knowledge of the
tunnels. The tour also offered some great site-seeing of the country and
London as well!”
"I have participated in two of the
Haygrove tours and found them extremely valuable. I initially was
looking at tunnel strawberry production and upon observing the success that
Haygrove was having growing sweet cherries under the tunnels, I was convinced
that this was an idea that would work for me here. I was impressed by the
willingness of the Haygrove management and staff at all levels to share their
technical knowledge and growing experience— both the successes and
failures. Being able to visit so many growers in a short period of
time who were using the Haygrove products for a wide variety of crops was
very educational and time well spent. Also, as with most “farmer” tours, the time
spent exchanging ideas with the other growers on the tour was one of the
best benefits of the trip."

"Sue and I had the pleasure of
being a part of a couple of seasons ago and we probably can't say enough of how
much we enjoyed the tour. The combination of educational and recreational sites
was most pleasurable with the mix leaving us feeling very fulfilled. The
exposure to the wonderful local culture and the most advanced high tunnel strategies
left us with memories we'll cherish for many years to come. We can't say enough
about Haygrove and their openness with regards to their quite advanced
technologies — both structural and growing. The tour was formatted to offer
unique exposures to Haygrove’s production regime which certainly benefited all
tour members, whether they were beginners or experienced tunnelers. To this
day, we are in frequent contact with some of the other tour attendees and
Haygrove employees networking to the max. This tour was certainly one of our
best, leaving us with a plethora of ideas and many fond memories of high-tech
growing in other countries. We have since sent other members of our growing
team from Minnesota to learn and experience many of the same technologies that
Sue and I encountered while traveling on this tour. These staff members
returned at least as enthralled with the opportunities and technologies as we
did."
